For most boundary-adjacent families, Westonka is a similar drive to the district you're zoned for — sometimes shorter. And transportation is available to select neighborhoods outside our boundaries, so open enrollment doesn't have to mean a daily drive.

Outside the boundaries
You live outside the Westonka district
You can still choose Westonka through Minnesota's open enrollment program. There is no tuition. Apply by January 15 for priority consideration, we'll respond by February 15, and you have until March 1 to accept. Applications after January 15 are still worth submitting — we'll tell you honestly what's available.

Westonka is expanding high school vocational options to include machining and nursing/emergency response programs, along with a carpentry extension to our current woods program.

Bringing an IEP or 504 Plan? Your child won’t start over.
Switching schools with a learning plan in place is its own kind of worry. At Westonka, comparable services begin on day one—there's no gap while paperwork catches up.
Our Special Services team supports students from birth through age 21 with special education, Section 504 accommodations, a Multi-Tiered System of Supports, and school-linked mental health through our partnership with Relate Counseling Center. Three Rivers Parks Naturalist program
Hilltop and Shirley Hills partner with Three Rivers Park District to provide environmental education to students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Students apply hands-on skills to standards they have learned and developed through their science curriculum.
